Celtic Clothing is an independent highland outfitter located in the small harbour town of Stornoway, on the stunning Isle of Lewis. Business owner Kathleen trained with Campbell’s of Beauly, a name synonymous with high quality tailoring. With now over 30 years experience she offers customers the chance to own a traditional hand-stitched kilt, each pleat painstakingly handsewn ensuring a traditional weight and feel. Perfect for weddings, important birthday gifts and special events; a kilt is something with timeless style and elegance which never goes out of fashion. And with over 3000 tartans to chose from, all woven in Scotland from 100% wool, we’ll help you find the perfect tartan for you.
Celtic Clothing is situated in one of the oldest buildings in Stornoway, this is reflected in the sense of history and tradition in the offerings; Harris Tweed, clan crest accessories and tartan wear. The unique Croft 11 brand found in-store stems from the croft on which Kathleen’s husband Robert weaves Harris Tweed in his weaving shed. This tweed is then crafted into jackets and waistcoats unique to the store. Another unique item to be found inside the twists of the shop is the Lews castle tartan. Developed by the company and named after the castle, whose turrets can be seen from the shop windows, the Lews castle tartan is a stunning complement of purples, greens and browns; colours which are ubiquitous to the island itself.
To start your very own hand-stitched kilt journey find out more by visiting our website or giving us a call. We also offer CMT Harris Tweed jackets, waistcoats and suits and are happy to post any item found in store anywhere in the world.
