The secret code to looking amazing
Alternatively, perhaps you are Ms Organised. Every night, you lay out the next day’s outfit and every morning you puzzle over why it suddenly doesn’t look or feel ‘quite right’.
And what about the cocktail dress you bought for that drinks party next week? It looked fantastic when you first tried it on, but next day there it is, sulking on your coat hanger. If that’s you too, fear not – read on.

You might blame the shop lighting or your indecision, lack of fashion sense and short-sightedness – and some of those factors perhaps contribute. But numerology reveals that there’s more to visual disillusion than meets the eye. Something else is responsible for our perceptions of fashion: it is the infl uence numbers and the calendar have on colour and you.
Just as each person in numerology is governed by their ‘personality’ and ‘birth day’ number, so every day is ruled by its own number and colour/s. So think how easy life would be if you colour coded your clothes according to this principle in advance. For when you follow this wisdom, you also tune into the cosmos, and have a better chance of success in an important interview, business meeting or hot date – and it saves precious time, too.
To get started, all you need are the numbers one to nine, and a calendar. With practise, you’ll quickly learn each ‘day’ number and its corresponding colours. As the month progresses, you will get double-digit dates and I explain how to deal with those on the next page.
My nine-day colour chart, below, lists the basics – and includes the metals and stones that complement each day’s outfit. But remember: the only limit is your imagination, and you can add your own unique twists.
DRESS BY NUMBERS
The first nine days are easy – the first is a 1 day, the second is a 2 day, etc. When you get to the 10th, however, the numbers become less pure. The 17th, for example is an 8 day (1 + 7). But secondary influences 1 (yellow/gold/ orange) and 7 (sparkling white/silver/pearl) can also be added as accessories. For instance, to a dark-blue suit, a sparkling white camisole and shoes might be added, enhanced by a gold necklace, bracelet, earrings, hair slide or gold/white patterned scarf. If in doubt, however, or you don’t have time to agonise over the details, simply wear the base colour(s). It’s natural to feel happier in certain colours, especially those represented by your personality number(s), but don’t forget it’s sometimes healthy to introduce colours you normally shy away from. Even small touches lend balance, lift and life to you and your clothes. Besides, now you have a valid excuse to embark on a shopping trip for a top in the elusive new colour you never knew you wanted. Now there’s a happy thought.
