I grew up on my parent’s riding school with dogs, chickens, cats and lots of ponies in the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside. When I wasn’t riding or running about in the fields and woods I was drawing, spending hours of the drowsy sunlit afternoons of childhood trying to capture all our animals on paper. I would draw them as cartoons initially and then as time passed and I became more experienced I found joy in adding more detail to ‘bring them to life’ in two dimensions.
Today I am still just as passionate about capturing an animal’s unique personality by paying close attention to every little detail as I work. It’s a privilege to be able to paint and draw and I take a huge pride in giving each valued commission 110%. To have a painting of a much loved pet is very special in that it is a unique image, unlike any other in the world. Many of my customers have benefited from having a portrait to remember the character and vibrance of a long lost pet, feeling that they have some small part of their animal back when they receive their artwork.
Should you decide to commission a portrait from me all you need to do is to select the clearest and best possible photograph of your animal – one which shows a stance or a ‘look’ which is typical of their personality. Be sure the photo has been taken in a good light so that all colours and markings can clearly be seen. Remember, your finished portrait will look like your photograph! Once that special photograph is chosen it is then a simple process of emailing it to me and work can begin.
All completed artwork is emailed to the customer for approval before payment and dispatch.
